What we do.

What Is Fire Protection?

Passive fire protection includes compartmentalization of the overall building through the use of fire-resistance rated walls and floors.

The idea is to divide a structure into “fire rated compartments”, which may contain single or multiple rooms, for the purpose of limiting the spread of fire, smoke and flue gases, in order to enable the three goals of fire protection:

Fire prevention is our intention.

Passive fire protection includes fire-resistant walls, floors, doors, and ceilings, as well as firestopping materials used to seal gaps and joints. These components are designed to contain fire and smoke within a designated area, preventing them from spreading to other parts of the building.

Passive fire protection involves built-in structural measures that do not require any action or intervention to be effective, such as fire-resistant barriers and firestopping materials. In contrast, active fire protection refers to systems that require activation, like sprinklers, fire alarms, and extinguishers.
